Moose Jaw Forklift Instructor Training - For those forklift operators who want to become a forklift instructor it is suggested that they finish a forklift Instructor training certification course. Entry qualifications for the forklift instructor training requires the lift truck operator to have extensive knowledge regarding lift truck equipment and skills driving forklifts. Instructor training usually is held at an equipment sales facility or at the campus of a junior college, community college, or technical or vocational school. Forklift manufacturing companies occasionally offer hands-on, train the trainer, practical courses.
Whether provided in a classroom environment or at a manufacturing business facility, registering for the program will involve paying a tuition fee, and purchasing manuals, book or other materials. Program length varies depending on the course. Participants usually should have satisfactory demonstration, test scores and participation throughout the program to be able to qualify for trainer certification.
It is assumed that the trainee taking the instructor course will have previous experience using forklifts. The topics of ethics, teaching techniques, safety issues and curriculum design would be the main focus during the instructor training program. Participants will know how to demonstrate to their students various aspects of lift truck operation, like moving and stacking materials or navigating the lift truck in narrow aisles. Participants will know how to evaluate student's written tests and demonstrations of their lift truck operating skills. The program objective is to prepare trainers to be able to create and implement their own forklift training courses.
Some self-study of the machinery and handbooks is required. Trainers will be expected to create their own curriculum, that meets regulation guidelines when it comes to topics presented, such as Safety and Operation. For instance, the topic of Safety should include an understanding of how to identify potential hazards. The topic of Operation includes instruction regarding maneuvering and steering, connecting and using and controls and instruments of the fork.
